11/26/02 13:34the familiar christmas sound of a salvation army volunteer or paid worker standing in the cold outside a retail store ringing a bell next to a red kettle. i normally wouldn't donate money to these people because i don't believe the money is actually used for the relief of the needy, though this time i donated as i was recording the bell. it seemed fair. i hope my money doesn't go to any shady politicians or to discourage gay partnerships.
