this from a dallas stars hockey game. there were so many sounds there that i had a hard time deciding which ones to record. it turned out that several of them were too difficult to capture on tape. the first one comes from the beginning of the 3rd quarter. while this clip is just under two minutes a lot happens: the crowd chants, music begins to play as the crowd gets excited, the music changes as the team comes out, people yell and whistle, the fans get even more excited, the game barely begins as a woman who can barely control her excitement screams out something unintelligible, the hockey puck is dropped and hit with the stick, one of the players makes a good play, and the crowd cheers again.


the music is familiar even if you have never been to a hockey game. since i'm really not very interested in sports, the sounds and the reactions of the crowd provided more entertainment than the game itself.

after the game the people i was with wanted to go grab a drink at our hotel bar before retiring. at the bar i talked to an older man who was decked out in cowboy regalia.
