the chicago tribune is now charging for the red eye. i've seen a couple of the boxes around that you actually have to put coins into. this makes absolutely no sense since you can get a ton of other free papers to read on the el. plus the red eye contains no news at all, just little news bites for short attention spans. one of the great things about living in chicago, you can pick up the free print copy of the onion, which is much more entertaining and is a more credible news source than anything put out by the chicago tribune.

The Red Eye and Red Streak are really insulting to me, both in content and and how it's presented (completely dumbed-down). Just because I'm under 30 doesn't mean I can't read a newspaper; I grew up reading the Trib over two bowls of cereal every morning, and have switched to the NYTimes.

However, I'm glad you recorded that guy, I kind of enjoyed all the characters that were giving away the papers when they first debuted.

ah, the box @ the western/milwaukee corner is still free. i tried this morning & RedEye was available.
